US Hopes India Nuclear Energy Deal can be Sent to Congress for Approval in September
The US ambassador to India said Wednesday he hoped a landmark deal on nuclear energy cooperation with the USA could be sent to Congress for approval in September, one day after India's government won a confidence vote that paves the way for the agreement to move forward.

Bharat Heavy to Triple Nuclear Investments After Pact
Bharat Heavy Electricals Ltd., India's biggest power-equipment maker, plans to triple spending in nuclear components once overseas companies are allowed to supply technology and fuel under an agreement led by the U.S.

Kazakhstan Targets Top Spot in Uranium Production
Kazakhstan, the world's third-biggest uranium miner, plans to overtake Canada and Australia by boosting output of the radioactive metal as much as 43 percent next year as new production starts up.

Lunnoye Co. to Build New Uranium, Gold Refinery in East Siberia
The Lunnoye company is to build a new plant in the northeast Siberian republic of Yakutia to process uranium and gold ore, the republic's ministry for industry said on Tuesday.

Let's Have Some Love for Nuclear Power
All over the world, nuclear power is making a comeback. British Prime Minister Gordon Brown has just commissioned eight new reactors. Germany is concerned about the phaseout of its 17 reactors and China and India have plans for nuclear power expansion. In the USA, one enormous question still hangs over this revival of nuclear power: Who is going to pay for it?
